Region that is spread across 13 districts—seven in Uttar Pradesh and six in Madhya Pradesh
Bundelkhand is a geographic region of central India. The region is now divided between the states of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, with the larger portion lying in the latter.
The major towns are Jhansi, Datia, Lalitpur, Sagar, Damoh, Orai, Panna, Mahoba,Chitrakoot, Banda Narsinghpur and Chhatarpur. However, the cities of Gwalior, Jabalpur and even Bhopal are under close cultural influence of Bundelkhand, especially lingustically. Bundelkhand's most well known place, however, is Khajuraho which has a number of 10th century temples devoted to fine-living and eroticism.
Since last 50 years there is a movement for separation of bundelkhand state.Bundelkhand is geographically the central part of India covering some part of MP and some of UP.
The population of this region is apprx. 5 crores.In spite of being rich in minerals, the people of Bundelkhand are very poor and backward. For their development they are demanding it's separate statehood so that it can be developed

Bundelkhand is very important region in India.It is unique in many aspects .Being the central part of the country it is much safe like heart in our body. The diamond mines in Panna , the temples of Khajuraho, Mahoba ka paan , Jhansi ki Rani, Alha-Udal of Mahoba and many other things make it unique .The writer of Ramcharit manas; Goswami Tulsidas,the writer of Mahabharat; Ved Vyas both were born in bundelkhand. Lord Rama lived here for 12 yrs.

Everyone knows the national poet Maithilisharan Gupt of bundelkhand. Dadda Dhyan Chand of bundelkhand is a diamond in sport-world ,he is globally known as “Hocky ka jadoogar”. Chambal,Ken,Dhasan,Betwa,Pahuj ,Tons and many other rivers are like arteries in this heart of India.
The ever green forests of Chitrakoot ,the beautiful lakes of Charkhari, hills of Panna and Mahals of Orchha collectively make this region unique
